On April 17, a workshop titled “Community in Action: How to Develop an Effective Program to Support Small and Medium-Sized Businesses” was held in Vinnytsia, organized as part of the UNDP project “Strengthened Partnership for Sustainable Recovery.” Representatives from the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, the Department of International Cooperation and Regional Development, and local communities in the region participated in the event.
The event’s agenda focused on the practical aspects of designing effective SME support programs—from analyzing common mistakes to finding solutions that meet the real needs of local businesses.
Participants worked on:
🔹 identifying key challenges that support programs should address;
🔹 analyzing business needs (agricultural sector, processing, services, trade);
🔹 developing the logic behind effective SME programs;
🔹 designing realistic KPIs and approaches to evaluating results;
🔹 fostering partnerships between communities, businesses, and educational institutions.
During the training, participants practiced using tools that can be applied in community work to enhance the effectiveness of business support programs.
We thank the organizers and the UNDP team for the opportunity to participate in the event and exchange experiences with experts working on local economic development.
