Today, the Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency hosted a working meeting with Armands Zemitis, CEO of FORTES, focused on opportunities for developing decentralized energy and implementing modern energy solutions in communities across the Vinnytsia region.
The Agency was represented in the discussion by Deputy Director Khrystyna Solovei and SME Development Manager Svetlana Kienko. Representatives from the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration’s Department of International Cooperation and Regional Development also participated in the meeting, as did representatives of the region’s local communities, who joined online.
The focus was on cogeneration and decentralized energy production. Armands Zemitis presented the company’s experience in developing and implementing cogeneration systems and biomass power plants, as well as practical case studies of their use in Ukraine and Europe.
The possibilities of using modular container-based cogeneration systems powered by natural gas and biomass, which allow for the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, were discussed separately. Such solutions may be particularly relevant for communities seeking to reduce their dependence on the centralized power grid and enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure.
For the region, the development of decentralized power generation is not just a matter of energy security. It is also a prerequisite for the stable operation of businesses, critical infrastructure facilities, and communities amid ongoing challenges.
