On October 9 Yulia Boboshko WASAW manager of the Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency took part in the annual conference of the WM4U Program Strengthening Solid Waste Management in Ukraine, held in Kyiv.
The event brought together representatives of central and local authorities, international partners, experts, and regional teams working on the implementation of a modern waste management system.
The conference featured four thematic sessions dedicated to:
- the transition to a comprehensive waste management system in Ukraine;
- practical cases of inter-municipal cooperation in the regions;
- innovative technologies and approaches in the field of waste management;
- the role of communities and cross-sectoral partnerships in building a “green” economy.
Participants discussed the challenges communities face when developing regional plans, as well as opportunities for attracting international technical assistance for the development of sustainable infrastructure.
The WM4U program is implemented with the support of Sweden and SALAR International and aims to create an effective, environmentally friendly, and economically sustainable waste management system in Ukraine.
