Yesterday in Brussels, as part of European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek), the Regional Development Agencies of Vinnytsia, Volyn, Odesa, Sumy, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions signed memoranda of cooperation with the European Association of Regional Development Agencies (EURADA).
The signing took place during a round table discussion entitled “Regional Development as the Basis for Ukraine's Path to EU Integration,” which brought together Ukrainian and European experts, representatives of donor organizations, and regional institutions. The event was an important step toward systematic dialogue, exchange of experience, and development of joint initiatives in the field of regional policy and innovation.
Yelyzaveta Savchuk, Director of the Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency, emphasized: “Today, Ukrainian agencies are being given the opportunity to join forces with European partners whose experience we can learn from, but more importantly, whose support we can enlist.”
The event was another step towards creating a permanent platform for partnership between Ukraine and the EU, which strengthens institutional development, mutual learning, and integration into the European community.
This partnership is the result of joint work within the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine,” Project UCORD, which is being implemented with the support of Switzerland by NIRAS Sweden AB.
