In the Vinnytsia region, the review of the Regional Waste Management Plan until 2035 continues. The work is being carried out with the support of the WM4U International Technical Assistance Program Strengthening Municipal Waste Management in Ukraine, implemented by Avfall Sverige and SALAR International.
On February 27, 2026, an online meeting was held during which regional expert Dmytro Laznenko presented a project for clustering the region's territory in the field of waste management. The proposed model will form the basis for the updated strategic document until 2035.
The event was attended by national waste management expert Oleksandr Ignatenko, representatives of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration's Department of Territorial Development and Infrastructure, the State Environmental Inspection in Vinnytsia Region, heads of territorial communities, and relevant specialists from local government bodies.
The Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency was represented at the meeting by WASAW manager Yulia Boboshko, who is involved in supporting the region's communities in the field of strategic waste management planning.
During the discussion, participants considered proposals from local communities, comments on the proposed clustering model, and practical aspects of its implementation.
Work on updating the Regional Plan continues in constructive cooperation between experts, authorities, and communities, which will allow for the formation of systematic and long-term solutions in the field of waste management.
