Eng.: Economic opportunities for women and men, barriers, and new opportunities for regional development were among the topics discussed at the expanded meeting of the regional interagency council, which took place in Vinnytsia. Participants in the event included Kateryna Levchenko, the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy; Iryna Kotsyubivska, Deputy Head of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration; Svitlana Yarmolenko, Director of the Department of Social and Youth Policy at the Regional State Administration; and representatives of government agencies, the civil society sector, and other regional institutions.
Kristina Solovey, Deputy Director of the Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency, also joined the discussion. As part of the session titled “Economic Opportunities for Women and Men: Barriers, Solutions, and Opportunities for Development,” she spoke about how people’s economic capacity is a crucial component of community and regional resilience.
Today, equal access to opportunities is not just about gender equality. It is also about the development of entrepreneurship, access to new knowledge and professions, the opportunity to start one’s own business, find a job, and realize one’s potential. In the context of the war, these issues directly impact the economic resilience of the Vinnytsia region.
It is important to the Agency that development opportunities are accessible to people in various communities across the region. After all, a strong economy begins with people who have the knowledge, support, and ability to turn their own ideas into reality. This is precisely how, step by step, a more resilient and economically capable Vinnytsia region is taking shape.
