Eng.: On October 7–8, a two-day hands-on training session titled “From Project Idea to Concept: Working on the KROKUS Platform” was held in Lviv. The event was organized by the Swiss-Ukrainian UCORD Project for representatives of the Regional Development Agency of Ukraine. Representatives from the Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency—Viktoria Zakharchuk, project manager, and Kira Diachuk, manager of the Agency’s Digital Competencies Office—participated in the training.
CROCUS is an educational IT platform developed by UCORD that helps users navigate the journey from an initial idea to a structured project concept. The platform guides users through every stage: from identifying the problem and its causes to defining objectives, outcomes, an action plan, and a budget. A built-in AI assistant helps verify the logic of the concept and identify areas that need refinement.
Over the course of two days, participants worked on their own project ideas: they built problem and goal trees, identified target groups, formulated expected outcomes, analyzed risks, developed logic-structure matrices, and worked out budgets. The final stage consisted of self-assessment of concepts, peer review, and presentation of their work.
For the ARR, it is important not only to use these tools independently but also to disseminate project competencies throughout the region. The knowledge gained can be applied when working with communities and other stakeholders, helping to transform local ideas into well-founded project concepts that are aligned with the needs of the territories and ready for further funding opportunities.
We thank the UCORD Project team for the training and development of tools that strengthen the capacity of the ARR and help communities prepare higher-quality projects for the development of their territories.
The KROKUS platform was developed as part of the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine” (UCORD Project), which is implemented with the support of Switzerland by NIRAS Sweden AB.
